Love is Worth Everything

I have known my mother law, Cathy Frye, since I was twelve years old.  In the last 5 or 6 years since being engaged to and then marrying her wonderful son Michael, Mom has become a key player in my life specifically. We moved back from Texas almost 3 years ago and she has never stopped in her tireless efforts to help. Day in and day out. That is so huge isn’t it! And it’s not a “Let me help you, MY way.” It’s like more suggestive and kind in it’s approach. She is so loving and compassionate. Even and especially Without words, I can clearly see how she is trying to be the Hands and Feet of Jesus to me. She helped care for my boys when I was too sick to care for myself. I have mentioned to you, my Reader, about the pictures I sometimes get from the Lord. These pictures are always consistent with what God is telling me or teaching me. I become more...

A Promise Fulfilled

Many times I write under what I call “inspiration,” but today I want to write to you because this last week has been so good. There is such a finality in the the word “good,” isn’t there? When God made Adam and finished with Creation, He said, “It is good.” Not great, not fantastic, but just “good.” How perfect is that? When Paul fell on the road to Damascus and was struck with blindness, that was “good.” When Esther became Queen of Persia, though a young Jewish maiden in a pagan land, that was good, wasn’t it? And finally when Peter reached out his hand to the Lord, and said “Help me! I am drowning!” That was good too. Jesus saved him. Many times we feel like Daniel in the Lion’s Den, so unsure of what is up ahead, that we have trouble trusting the One who made us for the future. I think of...

He’s a Good Good Father

What comes to your mind when you are reminded of when Jesus said to His disciples, “I will never leave or forsake you?” It may not seem like it, but this is a very important promise that Jesus gave us because He is saying that if you are His child, His residence is permanent in your heart. He won’t wake up one day and decide to leave. This is huge! The permanency of this statement speaks volumes because it shows that His promise to never leave doesn’t depend on what I do or don’t do, but rather goes back to who He is. He is awesome and mighty, kind and forgiving. He is love. His loving-kindness and grace are amazing. He is always faithful and always has a plan. He desires the best for you and wants to see you grow closer and closer to Him. It’s important to let Him do that by abiding in Him. John 15:4-5 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot...

Let Your Little Light Shine

There is a lot of confusion in Christendom about how God’s plan works together with my free will. All I wanted to say regarding that is this. God’s mind is infinitely larger and His plan is grander than my puny little mind could ever understand. So if he somehow weaves trillions of people together so that His perfect plan can come about, well then, who am I to question that? Sometimes I wonder if that even as believers get together and worry and debate about this topic and the like, God sits up in heaven and quietly laughs to Himself (covering His mouth of course as only He can do, discreetly). I know that God doesn’t really laugh like that (or does he?) but I do think that most of what we fight about is silly. In this case, this subject of God’s ultimate sovereignty is already set. Nothing anyone can do or say can change it in the slightest. If you or I choose...

A Love Complete

This is His everlasting love story. Written to me and to you. 2 Chronicles 6:18 But will God really dwell on earth with men? The heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain You. How much less this temple I have built? (Selah… think on this). Tonight I have been thinking about this beautiful verse I ran across earlier today. The thought that the Spirit of God that resides in me and in you—this God that cannot be contained in any capacity and whose mind cannot by explained by human wisdom—this God whose love is so immense in it’s enormity for each of His children that even all the oceans of the world cannot begin to contain it. How incredibly awesome is He? Isaiah 54: 5, 7-8 For your Maker is your husband-the Lord Almighty is His name- the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth . . . For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep...

El Roi- The God who sees me

Did you know that God made you for Himself? He designed you with His plan in mind. So no matter where you find yourself. Let me tell you, it has been a rough start to the year! And I apologize for not writing sooner, but over the last two weeks this crazy insomnia took over and it’s been hard to simply get through the day. Whether in a rut, hill, valley, lacking sleep, or mountaintop, He is there for you. He is present (not just a feeling of being there), but a constant supernatural presence. Someone to run to. You are His. That is if you simply commit your life to Him, believe He is who He says He is, in what He did at the cross, and choose to live for Him… He will be there to guide you from start to finish. Every single day. Sometimes when I come to the end of me is the only time I can truly find Him. The beautiful thing is that as you lean on Him more and more, your...

A Perfect God

How does Gods will and my will coincide with His perfect sovereign plan? This is an age old question that has been debated for centuries! I think that if God wanted us to know this concept more clearly, He would have made it more clear in the context of His Word. It would have been black and white.  Since God’s will IS perfect, nothing I can do can mess that up. The cross is the bridge between me and God. The cross closes the gap that sin created. This gap was caused by man’s original sin. But Jesus was victorious! Death, sin, and all evil died that day. For the Christian however, there is victory everyday. I can lay down in my bed at night at the end of a long day, sigh and say “It is well. With my soul. Whatever You want God. My will for Yours.” Praise God my destiny is not determined by my own efforts or when I miss the mark (or sin). Praise Him that...

A Mysterious and On Time God

Jumping Or Falling Out Of Bed What if life wasn’t a consistent doldrum of ordinary events? Life is interesting for me anyway, it always is changing: sometimes in good ways and sometimes in not so good ways. Some days I jump out of bed ready to face the day. Those days I sing praise songs to the Lord while I go throughout my day. I am so consumed by His love and power in my worship of Him that nothing phases me. It is awesome how He uses my spirit, mind, heart, and emotions to show Himself mighty and powerful. He shows me powerful things: many too awesome to write here. During these times everything makes sense; also, I am confident in Him and in who I am becoming as His daughter. Then there are other days when everything comes crashing down. I dread waking up in the morning and my heart and my mind are in complete turmoil. Sometimes it’s as if God has turned His back on me...
